Irish boy fighting for his life after being found unconscious in swimming pool near Alicante

An Irish boy is fighting for his life in Spain after being found unconscious in a swimming pool. James Greene, 3, was with his grandparents at an apartment complex in Cabo Roig, near Alicante.

The youngster was found shortly after 8am on Monday by a passersby, reportedly floating face down in the swimming pool. A call was received just after 8am saying a child had fallen into a swimming pool and had been pulled out, but was unconscious.

A local confirmed to the Irish Mirror that the boy was spotted by neighbours who pulled him from the water and alerted emergency services. Local Police from Orihuela were first on the scene.
