International Day against Breast Cancer this Saturday

Every October 19, on the initiative of the World Health Organization (WHO), the International Day against Breast Cancer is celebrated worldwide, with the aim of raising awareness about the disease and promoting access to diagnoses, controls, and timely and effective treatments.

According to WHO data, Breast Cancer represents 16% of all the female cancers, it is the most common in developing and industrialized countries, occurs to men and women but is much more frequent in women.

Today, Friday at the Hotel Voramar in Benidorm, from 4pm - 8pm, is will hosting informative talks by doctors, psychologists and other professionals, around the theme of research, innovation and communication of breast cancer.

Also from today until Sunday, Altea will light up the Town Hall in pink.

The Mayor of Altea , José Luis León Gascon said,  'It is an opportunity to raise awareness and draw attention to the prevention and control of cancer.'

Also a number of hotels in Benidorm will also be turning pink.
